The players in our Youth Hockey programme are by far the most important in the Club whether they're 4 years old training on a Monday night or 16yrs training on a Wednesday or Thursday night. They are the future life blood of our Club. Sittingbourne HC has made its ambition abundantly clear: to give young talents the best possible chance to emerge, make progress and shine.
Our international pro club coach Andrew Wilson (L3) designed our Minis and Junior Coaching Syllabus which structures our coaching for ages between 4 and 14 years old. We’re one of only handful of clubs nationally which have such a document which makes our Youth section unique, ensuring only the best coaching is provided for your child. The syllabus forms an essential part of our excellent Youth Hockey programme across all age ranges as it ensures we give the correct level of coaching in line with their bodies development.
We provide over 4.5 hours of combined Youth Hockey training per week for Girls and Boys aged 4 to 15 years old as well as regular age group competitive games on Sundays from U8s to U16s.
At 13 years old our Youth members are eligible to play competitive senior hockey on Saturdays by integrating them into our senior development teams, from there they can progress and flourish within the Club at all levels and the best thing it's totally FREE!!
All Youth Hockey at SHC is FREE. That's right totally FREE. No gimicks. No catches. No training fees. No match fees. No annual membership fees.
In order to make this happen we have partnered with The Kent Nirvana Group who supports this initiative and understands the importance of giving all young people a chance in life no matter what background or status.

All contributions are very much welcome
Whilst the cost of providing FREE hockey is offset by this partnership, it still doesn't cover the full cost (just over half). Therefore if you are a parent or guardian and appreciate what we are doing and trying to achieve and would like to make a contribution then please use the donate button below.
